What Oil Does a Toyota Actually Need?

Most Toyotas take 0W-20 full synthetic meeting ILSAC GF-6A or API SP. But here's the one a lot of quick-lubes get wrong: newer Camry, Corolla, and RAV4 are spec'd for 0W-16, and so is the Tundra's twin-turbo V6. Drop 0W-20 into an engine that wants 0W-16 and you're not matching the manufacturer spec. Always check your cap or owner's manual. None of these are dealer-only products, they're the same oils any qualified shop can stock.
